 es. Workshop participants learn how to add writing practice to their STEM c
 ourses that will help students improve their writing and at the same time e
 nhance their learning in the discipline.\n\nTopics include:\n\n\n	Why 
 writing matters - the theoretical underpinnings\n	The role of informal and
  low-stakes writing both in and out of class\n	Building a formal writing p
 roduct using scaffolding techniques\n	Developing meaningful rubrics for ev
 aluating writing products\n	Providing students with feedback on their writ
 ing in the context of a STEM classroom\n	Sharing writing-related resources
  on the DeafTEC website\n\n\nEach workshop participant will leave with a
  plan for developing a writing assignment that provides students with writi
