 John Nelson is a map maker\, software experience designer\, and writer at E
 sri. He works with the Living Atlas team\, creating geographic data\, web e
 xperiences\, moderately-educational blogs\, and mildly-instructional videos
 . He works in a small woodshed in Michigan and relishes the opportunity to 
 chat with other map folks.

\nRaynah Kamau is a Kenyan native who has bee
 n living in the US since 2013. She is co-founder of Black Girls MAPP and wo
 rks as a strategic adviser for partners at Esri. Black Girls MAPP focuses o
 n community mapping and evangelizing GIS in underserved and underrepresente
 d communities. The group celebrates black women in the field of GIS and use
 s maps and apps to visualize social justice issues--using location intellig
 ence to amplify the voices of marginalized and unheard communities.
