How to Engage with Legislators in Advancing ATE and STEM
Thursday, September 21
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EDT
One of the most effective ways community colleges can help ensure the future success and growth of the ATE program, and STEM at community colleges generally, is to build relationships with their federal legislators. This virtual session will cover the nuts and bolts of how to build and maintain those relationships, both in Washington, D.C. and at home. This virtual session will cover topics including how to set meetings, effective meeting strategies, the importance of consistent communication, and more. The ATE Conference is offering pre-conference meetings and sessions all day on Wednesday, October 25. Conference attendees also have the opportunity to use some of this time, or time before or after the ATE Conference, to set meetings with legislative offices on Capitol Hill.
