This white paper from Vince DiNoto of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System looks at methods of virtual GIS application desktop access. How can students best be accommodated when they need to access software from virtual or hybrid classroom settings, or classrooms which lack the proper technology? As the paper's summary states, "Many educators lack sufficient technology support to install and maintain a complicated GIS application." In the paper, remote software access and data creation are discussed as well as storage and retrieval methods. A useful illustration of this type of access is also provided. The paper may be downloaded in PDF file format.
