Screenshot

This assembly kit, made available by Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center (MATEC), simulates the manufacturing processes used in the construction of a basic transistor using building blocks. This activity can be performed individually or in small groups. The kit features a color-coded, step-by step guide that explains the functionality of every part of a basic transistor as the students progress through the activity. Topics covered include: Transistor Model Assembly Procedure, Nitride Deposition Assembly, Photoresist Dispense Assembly, Nitride Mask (Align and Expose), Nitride Mask Defect Inspect, and more. Each step includes its stated objective, purpose, and procedure. The kit also includes a glossary, instructions on how to delegate tasks when working in small groups, and a list of post-assembly activities.
