This lesson plan from the Florida Advanced Technological Education (FLATE) Center provides an introduction to manufacturing careers for high school students. The students will identify which items in their classroom were manufactured, and connect those items to possible career paths. The activity should take one or two class periods to complete. With this lesson, students will "demonstrate employability skills such as working on a team, problem-solving and organizational skill" and "learn about manufacturing careers." This plan includes a description of materials needed, objectives, a detailed step-by-step description of the activity, an optional homework assignment, and an evaluation section. Student handouts are also included.
