This activity is meant to provide a real world application of the Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center's (ATEEC) Recommended Core Curriculum. This curriculum was identified by ATEEC Fellows as necessary preparation for environmental technology occupation. In this activity, students perform a variety of tests on different types of surface water collected from a nearby area. At the end of the lesson, students should understand how to select, calibrate, and use sampling and monitoring equipment; draw, read, or interpret blue prints, flow diagrams, schematics, sketches, maps, and charts; apply ratios and proportions to solve problems; and interpret and extrapolate data.
