These presentation slides, published by the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge (NACK), are from the RET Experience: Activities for the High School Classroom webinar that was presented on March 28, 2014. Presenters included Theresa Burch, Physics and Integrated Science Teacher at Ironwood High School, and Trevor Thornton, Director of the Center for Solid State Electronics at Arizona State University. These webinar slides cover how nanotechnology is recognized as an emerging enabling technology for the 21st century, in addition to the already established areas of information technology and biotechnology. The presenters explain that this is because of the scientific convergence of physics, chemistry, biology, materials, and engineering at nanoscale, and of the importance of the control of matter at nanoscale on almost all technologies.
