The Statistical Process Control for Technicians webinar was presented by the Southwest Center for Microsystems Education (SCME) in January of 2013. This collection includes presentation slides and a webinar handout. Presenters included Barbara Lopez, Research Engineer at the University of New Mexico and Instructional Designer for SCME, and Mary Jane (MJ) Willis, Instructional Designer for SCME. Topics covered in the webinar include an introduction to SCME and its programs, Process variation and the need to identify special cause variation, Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical tools necessary to employ SPC, normal distribution and how it is significant in X-charts, X-charts and how to create them, and interpreting Control Charts by applying the Shewhart rules. The handout includes the Shewhart rules and links and references from the webinar.
