Activity 1: Creating Your Own Map - Hawaiian Volcanoes
This 7-page activity is provided by the GeoTech Consortium of Western New York: Get the GIST (Geospatial Information Science Technology) Certificate and helps users create a map and add map layers in ArcGIS. The activity includes step by step instructions which involve creating a new map, adding layers to the map, setting layer properties, editing the map legend, changing a symbol, saving the map, and editing item details in the 'My Content' view. This resource is one in a series of activities used during the Professional Development Workshop on Integrating Geospatial Technology into the HS Classroom.
