Collection Description

This collection of flyers is provided by the National Convergence Technology Center (CTC) and was created to provide information about the CTC and the Convergence College Network (CCN). "The Convergence College Network (CCN) is a select cohort of community colleges and universities from across the country that connects IT educators with a wealth of resources to enhance their programs."

Collection Contents

Eight flyers are included in the collection.

The Convergence College Network Benefits flyer explains the structure of the CCN community of practice. Specifically, the flyer presents the difference in benefits between level one and level two, how those two levels are linked to ongoing participation and engagement, what kinds of activities are required by level one CCN members, and how a unique "points system" tracks those activities. The purpose behind the two-level format is to make sure travel assistance goes to the CCN schools that are most involved (at level one).

The Convergence College Network Overview and Benefits flyer was developed to better explain the essential benefits of membership in the National CTC's IT educator community of practice, known as the "CCN" (Convergence College Network).

The One-Minute Student Video Directions flyer was developed at the CTC's National Visiting Committee (NVC), which recommended the production of short one-minute student success testimonial videos to promote the work of the CTC and educators at its CCN member schools. To make it easy for CCN faculty members to recruit students, this overview flyer was created. The intent was to address technical and formal issues as well as provide a standard set of student questions to answer.

The Growth and Outreach of the CTC is a hand-drawn illustration and was designed to show the "tree-like growth" and connections of the CTC's CCN community of practice. The colors are intended to help identify which members schools are being mentored by which CTC grant partner school.

The CCN By The Numbers info-graphic flyer was intended to help with recruiting new schools to join the CCN and was designed to showcase the many benefits of membership.

The Get Connected flyer was developed to briefly explain the logistics and impacts of the National CTC's three primary grant initiatives (professional development, faculty professional development, and employer engagement). This is the primary handout with details and numbers updated as needed that the CTC uses at conferences for outreach and dissemination.

The What Is a BILT flyer was developed to better explain to employers the essential benefits of adopting the National CTC's "BILT model" (Business and Industry Leadership Team) that energizes the relationship between educators and employers by putting industry in a "co-leadership" role to create more investment in a college program.

The Working Connections info-graphic flyer was designed to showcase the many benefits of attending the Working Connections conference.
