Nebraska Nanoscale Facility Virtual Tour: Deposition (E-beam Evaporation)

This video, provided by the Nebraska Nanoscale Facility (NNF), offers a tour of a deposition area of a nanoscale facility. Deposition, or electron-beam physical vapor deposition, is a process that creates thin films or coatings; materials created through this process are often used in electronics. The video shows various equipment found in the deposition area and is 30 seconds in length. This includes a Nanoscale Electrodeposition lesson plan that allows students grades 5-12 to "apply an understanding of relationships among the amount of electric current flowing through a circuit, the time that the current is flowing, the number and diameter of ions that undergo chemical reduction, and the nanoscale thickness of a thin layer of a metal."
