This module, provided by the Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link), covers engineered nanomaterials in the environment. The module was developed in collaboration with the Midwest Emerging Technologies Public Health and Safety Training (METPHAST) Program. Module materials include a video that runs 06:52 minutes in length, a hands-on activity entitled Analytical Approaches for Differentiating Objects, and presentation slides. The learning objectives for this module are as follows:

  • Identify sources for engineered nanomaterials in the natural environment
  • Describe potential ecological effects of nanomaterials
  • Predict pathways for exposure of the public to nanomaterials
