This module, provided by the Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link), introduces students to the health effects of nanoparticles. This module was developed in collaboration with the Midwest Emerging Technologies Public Health and Safety Training Program (METPHAST). Included in the module is a video that runs 50:46 minutes, a video that runs 03:00 minutes, a hands-on activity entitled Phagocytosis of Nano-objects, and presentation slides. The learning objectives for this module are as follows:

  • Predict the role of particle properties on health effects
  • Describe the kinds of health studies that have been conducted related to nanoparticle exposures
  • Identify potential health effects from inhalation and dermal exposures to nanomaterials
  • Recognize uncertainties in health studies as they apply to human health risks

Users must create a free account in order to access all of the materials.
