This module, provided by the Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link), introduces students to best safety practices for working with nanomaterials. This module was developed in collaboration with the Midwest Emerging Technologies Public Health and Safety Training (METPHAST) Program. Included in the module is a video that runs 61:08 minutes, a video that runs 11:30 minutes, a hands-on activity entitled Selection and Donning of Respirators, and presentation slides. The learning objectives for this module are as follows: 

  • Choose control options in the context of the hierarchy of control
  • Modify work practices to reduce exposures
  • Recommend administrative control measures
  • Select appropriate personal protective equipment
