Basics of Spectroscopy
This 34-page resource, developed by the National Center of Optics and Photonics Education (OP-TEC), is one of three modules that cover spectroscopy and environmental monitoring. This module "covers electromagnet wave (EM) creation, the electromagnetic spectrum, particle properties of electromagnetic energy, energy levels and photons, spectra of light sources, regions of the optical spectrum, emission and absorption spectra, florescence, spectroscopic instruments, and applications of spectroscopy." This module includes the following sections: Introduction, Prerequisites, Objectives, Scenario, Basic Concepts, Laboratory, Problem Exercises, and more. Two other spectroscopy and environmental monitoring modules are available to view separately.
