Advanced Manufacturing Competencies for Personal and Career Success

This resource, provided by the Center for Occupational Research and Development, includes eight classroom discussion guides on employability skills based on the US Department of Labor competency model in advanced manufacturing. The discussion guides coincide with online modules linked through the resource on eight different types of skills: interpersonal, integrity, professionalism, dependability and reliability, teamwork, problem-solving, personal safety and health, and communication. Each guide is one page and features a compact version of the corresponding online module, topics for class discussion, a real-life scenario discussion activity, and a link to video resources on the topic that can be shown in class. These discussion guides can be used in any context where soft skills are important, not just advanced manufacturing.
