The concept of this workshop will be to use multiple free applications to create dynamic content. In this workshop the participants will learn how to create a blog (a web page) and then add content from other applications as a mashup utilizing the API code. Don’t know what API code is don’t worry that is what the workshop will teach you, but you won’t write any code (no programming knowledge is needed). For example how do you use picture stored at one location in a blog stored at another location? How can you exchange information and browse you home computer from your office computer? How can you view a YouTube video within your class page? How can you store your slides online? These and other topics will be covered in the workshop. This is a hands on workshop that will have the participants doing mash-ups in just a few minutes. Participants will need to have a google account and a hotmail (or Microsoft Live) email account, both are free. Additional resources will be posted online including instructional video.
