This 5 day class will cover core competencies in the latest PC hardware and software technologies as well as safety and environmental issues and soft skills. There will be a special unit focusing on Cyber Security. The course will cover all topics required for CompTIA’s new A+ (2010) Certification and the new Cisco IT Essentials curriculum (version 4.1). This course’s focus is on the training needs of high school IT faculty although it will also be open to College IT faculty. Attendees will have opportunity to gain certification as Cisco Instructor for Cisco IT Essentials curriculum.

Instructor: Ron Koci has been a full-time instructor at Madison Area Technical College since January of 2001, teaching in the Help Desk Certificate program. The program was later developed into a Help Desk Support Specialist technical diploma. He has taught courses not only in computer hardware and software troubleshooting, but also in Help Desk support and customer service. He also holds the A+ Certification from CompTIA. Ron is a former high school teacher with a background that includes work in retail software store management and as a member of a support team at a major area hospital.
