Students begin the Academy for College Excellence (ACE) semester with a two-week intensive called the Foundation Course. The FELI is a compressed, modified version of the Foundation Course exclusively for community college faculty, administrators and staff. During this workshop, participants are exposed to all of the same basic communication and leadership curriculum as ACE students, and often experience similar renewal and inspiration. The FELI offers the opportunity to enrich one's self both personally & professionally, and is an excellent way to be introduced to ACE. This FELI is the first step for faculty interested in teaching ACE courses.

This is an experiential workshop, meaning that you will be participating as a learner, not as an instructor learning to teach ACE curriculum.
The workshop is being held Monday, June 13 – Friday, June 17, 2011, 8:30am-5:30pm daily, at Cabrillo College, CA. This may sound like a long workshop, but many exercises get you out of your seat, and there are ample breaks. Because each exercise builds on the next, and rapport is built within the group, participants are asked to attend each day in full. Session groups are capped at around 25 participants.
