At STAR (Students, Technology, and Robots) Camp, students work in teams to build, program, engineer, and operate a VEX robot. Throughout the week-long day camp, students will rotate through the advanced manufacturing programs at St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC) while learning how to weld, create 3D designs for their robots, program, and build their robots. There will be eight students from SCTCC's manufacturing program, along with faculty members, to help mentor and guide the students. One day is spent touring a local manufacturer where they see robotics in action. The final day of the camp is spent in friendly competition with family and friends invited to attend and see what the students have created learned. Open to students entering grades 6-8, with room for 32 students.
