An introductory background in ArcMap is required for this workshop. This workshop will explore the concept of Georeferencing, geared toward Sanborn Fire Insurance maps. These maps date into the second half of the 19th century and are a great resource in the study of the history of a community. Once these maps have been Georeferenced it is then important to extract information from them, through a process known as heads up digitization.
