Learn how to increase the number of women and retain more female (and male) students in your science and technology classrooms. The WomenTech Educators Online Training Program, about 2-3 hours per week for 10 weeks, is given via presentations, handouts and exercises online, available to watch and complete at your convenience. Live question and answer training calls will take place the weeks of July 13 and August 24. Plus you'll receive exclusive access to an online learning community to connect with other training participants and receive supplementary content.

You will take away an easy-to-implement recruitment plan to greatly increase the number of women and girls in your STEM classrooms; a retention plan for your school to increase the completion rate of your female (and male students), starting right away; the knowledge and confidence you need to put your plans into action; and a certificate of completion from IWITTS and the option for a unit of continuing education credit from Fresno Pacific University.

The training is free to ATE grantees with teams of 4-6 participants. Your team will be the most effective if it includes a variety of stakeholders from your school or program who are dedicated to increasing the number of female students in STEM. Teams will communicate as a single voice during the program. While team members may watch modules individually at their convenience, the team joins together weekly to synthesize and apply the information into a group assignment. These assignments build to create full recruitment and retention action plans by the end of the training.

To help you submit a competitive application and to set your team up for greater success, check out this free, 30-minute webinar (http://www.iwitts.org/nsf-online#nsfteam) featuring live Q&A with the Executive Director of IWITTS, Donna Milgram.
