This convening will bring together 200 STEM education leaders from across the country for professional learning and skill development. Learn about the national landscape around the skills gap and research and thought on bridging STEM workforce knowledge and skills with secondary education expectations and coursework. Share real-world exemplars of models, strategies, student internship opportunities, workplace and experiential learning, and tools for engaging and collaborating to inspire and educate secondary students to pursue STEM careers. Discuss ways secondary and post-secondary education leaders can collaborate and build bridges with each other to improve student outcomes. Plan for effective collaboration that will focus on generating ideas, solutions and collective action steps to coordinate services to help smooth the transition to college and career.
