The Missoula College Energy Technology Summer Practicum provides students with a hands-on field experiences in developing novel energy technologies. Students work in teams to design, build, and test renewable and sustainable energy technologies with a focus on solar, wind, geothermal, microhydro, efficiency, or a technology of their choosing with faculty approval. In addition to promoting creativity and task completion, this course increases students' occupational awareness and professionalism by exposing them to local energy industry leaders. Scientific method and engineering analysis will be used extensively. At the conclusion of this intensive two-week course, students present their findings to their peers, the faculty and the community in an open forum.
