The Missoula College Energy Technology Summer Practicum provides students with a hands-on field experiences in developing novel energy technologies. Students work in teams to design, build, and test renewable and sustainable energy technologies with a focus on solar, wind, geothermal, microhydro, efficiency, or a technology of their choosing with faculty approval. In addition to promoting creativity and task completion, this course increases students'™ occupational awareness and professionalism by exposing them to local energy industry leaders. Scientific method and engineering analysis will be used extensively. At the conclusion of this intensive two-week course, students present their findings to their peers, the faculty and the community in an open forum.
