Forsyth Technical Community College (Forsyth Tech) and the National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce (NCBW), will be hosting The Biosciences Industrial Fellowship Project (BIFP) from June 1st to June 24th, 2016.  The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports this multi-disciplinary bioscience initiative through the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Program, DUE Grant #1304010. During this four week professional development initiative, Fellows reside in Winston-Salem, NC where they gain a panoramic view of the bioscience industry and participate in laboratory skills “boot camps” at our 3 collaborating community colleges; Forsyth Technical Community College (Forsyth Tech), Alamance Community College (ACC), and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC).  In addition to the hands-on laboratory experience, Fellows will shadow workers in various departments at a dozen different industrial/university hosting facilities, gain invaluable insight from special guest presenters, and develop/present an instructional module related to the project that can be shared and or implemented at their home institutions. Travel expenses are included and a competitive weekly stipend is offered for Fellows that qualify.  32
