Biomedical Technology touches lives each day from a simple bandage to a high-tech pacemaker.   Minnesota is known as “Medical Alley” and is home to over 400 FDA regulated medical device companies (OEM’s and component manufacturers) and the corporate headquarters of some of the largest medical device manufacturers in the world.  At camp, students will learn how devices are used to treat and diagnose medical conditions. Tour local a medical device manufacturer and see the advanced manufacturing that goes into making medical device components and actual devices.

Students will have a chance to run a laser marking system, learn about sensors & robotics and participate in a lab dissection.  (Students are not required to participate in the lab dissection if they feel uncomfortable.)  Students will also learn about all the exciting career opportunities in the medical device field from Biomedical Engineers who design medical products to Biomedical Equipment Technicians who repair and maintain the life-saving medical equipment.
