Join Lisa Friedersdorf as she discusses the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI), the U.S. Government’s nanotechnology research and development effort spanning 20 departments and independent agencies and commissions. The four goals of the NNI are to advance nanotechnology R&D; foster technology transfer for public benefit; develop and sustain educational resources, a skilled workforce, and a dynamic infrastructure and toolset to advance nanotechnology; and support the responsible development of nanotechnology. This presentation will share some of the ways the NNI goals are being advanced and highlight the resources being developed to promote nanoscale science and engineering education.
