Join the New York Geographic Alliance for the 3rd annual three-day NYSCSS/NYS4A Summer Institute. The Institute will focus on using the New York State Social Studies Curriculum Framework to plan instruction and acquiring new strategies to scaffold instruction for all learners including students receiving ELL and Special Education services. During the Institute, elements of building curriculum inquiries, including assessment prompts based on the new Social Studies Practices embedded in the Framework will be discussed. Themes of the Institute will also be integrated by visiting Rochester museums and presenters will share strategies related to organically developing content rich and pedagogically sound primary source lessons, incorporating the Framework and Social Studies Practices. On Wednesday, July 12, NYSED Social Studies Associates will provide a 3-hour clinic on the NEW Global History & Geography Regents exam's Enduring Issues essay prototype.
