This three-day interactive STEM summer camp will take place July 18-20, 2018 on the Columbus State Community College, Columbus Campus. Through this program high school students will participate in interactive labs, tour an automated distribution center and the Columbus State campus, and learn about careers in logistics and engineering. Students who successfully complete the three-day summer camp will also receive a $250 stipend.
Eligibility Criteria:
Current high school students and recent high school graduates
Demonstrable interest in a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
Ability to attend the entire summer camp
Priority given to students who have not previously participated in this summer camp
Application Requirements
Students are encouraged to apply by May 14, 2018. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and participation is limited to 35 students. Only completed applications will be reviewed. Interested applicants will use this online application to submit the following:
- Completed application form.
- Current high school transcript. Unofficial copies are acceptable.
- Letter of recommendation printed on school letterhead from a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teacher or school counselor.
- Short essay response. Addressing the prompt below in 150- 200 words
"Describe your previous experiences and current interests or career goals in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics."
