This workshop presents an overview of the world of nanotechnology. Participants will learn about the growing applications of nanotechnology in many areas including biotechnology, MEMS, optoelectronics, chemical processing, solar cells, and information technologies. The basics of nanofabrication processes and tools will be covered and emphasized through process. This four-session workshop is broken down into lectures by nationally recognized researchers and engineering staff and lab sessions in nanofabrication.
Workshop Dates: Fridays from 11 am-3 pm EST, October 12, 19, November 9, and 16 (Please note there is a two week break between sessions 2 and 3.)
There is no cost to participate in this workshop if your application is selected. Applications must be submitted by the deadline stated on the application to be considered.
Target audience: Secondary and post-secondary science and technology teachers, vocational-technical teachers, guidance counselors & school administrators who are investigating adding a Nanotechnology aspect to their curriculum.
