A National Science Foundation Grant (NSF, DUE 1801078) to conduct an American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE QC-10 Welding Certification Teacher Workshop. We will go over the certification process, school registration process, and each teacher will earn QC-10 certification upon successful completion. Opportunity will also be given for breakout sessions to work on implementation scenarios for each respective school program. Core elements of certification modules will be emphasized as well as teaching practices to ensure student success. Articulation pathways will also be highlighted for students next steps to advanced welder certification, or AWS QC-11 offered at Monroe County Community College.  

Workshop dates: July 30, 31 and August 1, 6, 7, 8 , 2019. 

Participation is open to any high school welding teacher, or teacher interested in teaching welding, (construction or machining); or interested in AWS SENSE QC-10 certification process. A training stipend and travel allowance are provided. Please visit the website for more details.
