This mini-BIOMAN hands-on workshop builds upon the statistical concepts required for design of experiments (DOE), including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and statistical models. Workshop participants will apply DoE methods using JMP statistical software during hands-on laboratory activities. Activities will include an introduction to JMP statistical software, hypothesis testing, full factorial design, and screening designs with DoE blocking. Participants will analyze data they collect from basic laboratory experiments involving volume measurement and cell lysis. This workshop will incorporate presentations from industry professionals in Southern California’s biotech hub and an industry site tour.
