CICMHE sponsors a Material Handling Teachers Institute (MHTI) to prepare new faculty for instruction in the field of materials handling as well as to enhance the skills of experienced faculty. MHTI is for both engineering and business faculty who are directly involved in the teaching of material flow systems and/or facility logistics. It will feature a wide range of industry and academic presentations, plant and lab tours, and social activities designed to promote better teaching of material handling and facilities design courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Through a variety of program activities, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with their colleagues and share course designs, teaching methods, case studies, textbooks, software, and more.
The ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition is the only conference dedicated to all disciplines of engineering education. It is committed to fostering the exchange of ideas, enhancing teaching methods and curriculum, and providing prime networking opportunities for engineering and technology education stakeholders such as deans, faculty members and industry and government representatives.
This workshop is open to university, community and technical college faculty, secondary school educators, and administrators. Participants will receive information on the growing need for welding technicians and a curriculum to train them. Weld-Ed staff will discuss the opportunities for attendees to create new AAS programs in welding technician education and/or to infuse welding and materials joining instruction into existing technician or technology programs. Attendees will also learn about Weld-Ed materials and services that are available for planning and implementing welding and materials joining education at their institutions.
The National Science Foundation has provided grant funding for the Mid Pacific Information and Communications Technologies Center to coordinate, improve, and promote ICT education, with an emphasis on 2-year colleges, in northern California, northern Nevada, southern Oregan, Hawaii and the Pacific Territories. MPICT's 4.5 day Summer 2009 Faculty Development week at City College of San Francisco's campus will provide "train the trainer" sessions to prepare faculty to teach new courses, pedagogical tactics like integrating experimental learning into classrooms, and technical tools to expand and enhance educational experiences. The National Geospatial Technology Center, Jefferson Community and Technical College, and the Kentucky Information Technology Center (KITCenter) in Partnership with Kentucky Division of Geographic Information, Kentucky Geographic Alliance and the University of Kentucky Tracy Farmer Center, is proud to announce a regional one day conference to be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 with pre-conference workshops scheduled for Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 on the Southwest campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Kentucky.
This first conference of its kind will provide a regional and Kentucky perspective of geospatial education in the P-16 segment. Presentations by leaders and practitioners in the field will provide participants with an up-to-date view.
Plenary sessions and professional development tracks include the following topics:

HI-TEC (High Impact Technology Exchange Conference) is the first national conference on advanced technological education where both faculty who teach technicians and technicians themselves can go to update skills and knowledge. Charged with Educating America’s Technical Workforce, HI-TEC will consist of one and a half days of pre-conference workshops and two days of conference sessions and keynote speakers.
This conference is designed to equip new faculty members with knowledge of active learning techniques that are both based on Physics Education Research (PER) and that have been successfully implemented at two-year colleges across the country. Led by experienced two-year college physics instructors, this conference will empower a new faculty member as they embark on the important mission of developing critical thinking skills in their students and developing the future technological workforce for this country.
