Join organizers for an intensive 3-day workshop to prepare community college faculty to submit papers to peer-reviewed journals. This online workshop is led by Peter Kazarinoff, MNT-EC co-PI and faculty at Portland Community College. Organizers will cover how peer-reviewed journals work, as well as how to write, submit, review, edit and publish in peer-reviewed journals to advance in your career. Stipends available for qualified faculty.

Day 2 Peer-review journal process, writing
Day 3 Reviewing for journals, wrap-up, formation of writers and reviewers

The Federal Aviation Administration has nine regional offices within the U.S. Each region is expanding outreach with in-person events. The goal is to highlight the societal, economic, and educational benefits of drones for the general public, through a series of events focusing on different audiences. Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Please note that there may be additional costs for lunch. 

Droning On: Southwest Edition will take place September 21-23, 2023 at Northern New Mexico College, Arts Annex. The event will be three days of panels, lectures, and demonstrations. 

One of the most effective ways community colleges can help ensure the future success and growth of the ATE program, and STEM at community colleges generally, is to build relationships with their federal legislators. This virtual session will cover the nuts and bolts of how to build and maintain those relationships, both in Washington, D.C. and at home. This virtual session will cover topics including how to set meetings, effective meeting strategies, the importance of consistent communication, and more. The ATE Conference is offering pre-conference meetings and sessions all day on Wednesday, October 25. Conference attendees also have the opportunity to use some of this time or time before or after the ATE Conference to set meetings with legislative offices on Capitol Hill.

The National Cybersecurity Training and Education (NCyTE)  and the Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) in cybersecurity community are hosting the seventh annual National Cybersecurity Cirtual Career Fair (VCF). 

This event is open to students and alumni from over 300 institutions designated as Centers of Academic Excellence in Research (CAE-R), Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and institutions in the Candidate's Program (pending approval).

Each release brings a plethora of new and improved functionality throughout virtually all aspects of the software. In this session, presents will introduce and demonstrate some of the highlights of version 25, including enhanced capabilities for working with vector, raster, and terrain data.

This workshop will benefit winemakers, cellar workers, winery staff, and wine enthusiasts who seek a deeper understanding of these topics and their impact on a winery’s success. In addition, workshop attendees will be guided through sensory test methods to access perceived differences and preferences in wine.

Topics include: Welcome and Introduction to Tasting, White Sensory Standards, Red Sensory Standards, and Evaluating Palate Attributes: Alcohol, Acid, and Tannin Wine Defects, Descriptive Wine Analysis of White Wines, Descriptive Analysis of Red Wines, Laboratory Investigating, Wine Competition Methodology and Professional Wine Rating Systems. A certificate will be awarded after the completion of this workshop.
