This year’s 50th annual ASEE Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration (CIEC) is organized by the Cooperative and Experiential Education Division (CEED), the College Industry Partnership Division (CIPD), the Continuing, Professional, and Online Education Division (CPOED), and the Engineering Technology Division (ETD). Since 1976, this conference has served as a platform for workshops, technical sessions, training, and plenary keynote addresses and panels, highlighting the long-standing and mutually beneficial partnerships among education, industry, and government. The 2026 CIEC will be held at the Hotel Monteleone from February 3 to 6. This year’s conference theme is Transforming Tomorrow Together!

This session is designed for community college faculty and staff exploring the fundamentals of Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot. Topics include Generative AI and responsible AI use, effective prompting techniques, and real-world applications in education. This session will provide practical insights and hands-on guidance to help integrate AI tools into your work.

This follow-up webinar is designed for faculty looking to integrate Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot into their curriculum. We'll start with a brief review of Copilot Chat, then explore practical strategies for incorporating AI-driven tools into lesson plans. We'll also examine real-world use cases from various disciplines.

This follow-up training session is tailored for staff across various departments, offering practical insights into leveraging Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot in workplace operations. After a brief review of Copilot chat, we'll dive into use cases to learn how AI can streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and support decision-making in higher education administration.

The Community College Innovation Challenge is led by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) in partnership with the National Science Foundation (NSF). It is a national competition where community college student teams, working with a faculty or administrator mentor, use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to innovate solutions to real-world problems; receive full travel support to attend an Innovation Boot Camp in Washington, D.C.; and compete for cash awards of up to $3,000 per team member. Up to 12 finalist teams will be selected to attend the Innovation Boot Camp and receive coaching designed to build strategic communication and entrepreneurial skills. Finalist teams also participate in a Student Innovation Session and engagement opportunity with STEM leaders and Congressional stakeholders, and a pitch presentation in front of a panel of industry professionals. Join AACC and team mentors from the 2025 competition to learn about the CCIC, and why you should support a student team from your institution to apply by the April 3 deadline.

Join AIA Detroit's Committee on the Environment (COTE) for an evening exploring how mass timber is reshaping the future of cities. Tall Timber: Future of Cities in Wood brings together leading voices from LEVER Architecture and Thornton Tomasetti.

Through a featured lecture and moderated discussion, speakers Thomas Robinson (LEVER Architecture)and Alejandro Fernandez (Thornton Tomasetti) will highlight advances in mass timber systems, design innovation, and a featured project on display. The program is paired with a relaxed reception, offering opportunities to connect with peers while viewing exhibits and enjoying light refreshments.

This program will feature insights from George Berghorn, Assistant Professor of Construction Management and Research Director for Mass Timber at Michigan State University’s School of Planning, Design and Construction; Steve Purchase, Communications Director for the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights; and Luke Barnett, President of the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute. 

Together, the speakers will explore key workforce challenges, identify talent gaps, and highlight opportunities to better align education, training, and industry needs in response to the growing demand for mass timber across Michigan. The event will conclude with a panel conversation facilitated by Sandra Lupien, Director of MassTimber@MSU,  connecting perspectives and examining what a strong, inclusive mass timber workforce of the future can look like in our state.

Introductory webinar that offers a practical overview of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, tailored for community college faculty seeking to align education with industry transformation. Participants will examine how AI is reshaping care delivery, enhancing patient outcomes, and empowering the healthcare workforce through smarter tools and data-driven insights.  From clinical decision support to operational efficiencies, this session highlights real-world use cases and strategies for preparing students with industry-relevant skills. Faculty will leave equipped to explore how emerging technologies are changing not just how care is delivered, but how it is taught, understood, and reimagined.

This Microsoft-sponsored session will be delivered by Black Dog Black Cat, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and will include Microsoft resources and case studies of companies applying AI in Healthcare.

The National Applied AI Consortium's AI Summit, hosted by Miami Dade College, is designed for faculty and administrators, industry practitioners and policymakers interested in building the U.S. AI workforce pipeline through community colleges. 

With sponsorship from Google.org, this national convening will be focused on strengthening the role of community colleges in AI workforce development. Attendees will hear from leading companies driving AI transformation, faculty peers sharing best practices in AI education, and students currently enrolled in AI programs, offering valuable perspectives from across the AI learning ecosystem. 

The summit will also feature hands-on training for faculty interested in teaching AI, with opportunities to earn certifications that support career growth and program development. To support faculty participation, a travel stipend is available for full-time faculty at U.S.-accredited community colleges.

Join us for an idea vetting and discussion session and talk with a former CCIC judge and student participant as well as representatives from the National Science Foundation and the American Association of Community Colleges. Come share your project ideas and receive informal feedback as well as have the opportunity to ask questions about the CCIC application process.

Designed for ATE Principal Investigators and ATE project staff who are preparing to complete the 2026 ATE Survey. EvaluATE staff will walk you through the survey questions and format and answer your questions. Participants who have previously completed the survey are welcome to share lessons learned and practical advice.

Trainees who are interested in presenting their research are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster sessions. The USC Spatial Sciences Institute’s (SSI) annual 2026 Los Angeles Geospatial Summit, taking place this year at the USC Hotel, 3540 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA, on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PST.

Join this Community of Practice to explore how AM has evolved, how it is utilized today, and how to access tools and resources designed to support educators who may or may not already have experience in AM. You’ll leave with fresh perspectives and valuable connections with peers navigating the future of additive manufacturing education.

Join this a three-hour virtual workshop to explore the basics of batteries!

During this virtual workshop, educators will learn the foundations of batteries and energy storage. Presenters will discuss the uses of batteries, safety and recycling, as well as the history and future of energy storage. They will also introduce activities for the classroom that engage students in dynamic, hands-on energy-based learning. This workshop includes new material developed by KidWind in addition to some CREATE material.
