Abstract

This lab consists of activities designed to teach students about how nanotechnology can be used to transport medicine for targeted drug delivery.

The entire bundle can be downloaded by clicking on the download link in the upper right or compontents can be individually downloaded by visiting the Supporting Docs tab.

Learning Objectives:

  • Model the action of nano-micelles and observe its interaction with an insoluble chemical.

  • Observe the self-assembly of a surfactant into a miscelle and use UV-Vis spectrometry to measure the absorbance of the surfactant and encapsulated material.

Lab Contents:

  • Micelles - Drug Delivery Lab Activity, including:
    • Pre-Lab and Safety/Hazards Assignment
    • Background Information
    • References
    • Student Report Sheet
  • SDS: Safety Data Sheets for the Micelles - Drug Delivery Lab
