This paper on Engineering Technology (ET) came from a task force that presented at the 2003 American Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference. In it, the authors discuss ET scholarship and the importance of having relevant ET scholarship, the evaluation of ET Scholarship, faculty workload, and the challenges and opportunities that ET Scholarship provides. A survey of ET faculty scholarly activity was carried out to discover current practices and to build the model presented in this paper.
