Building Their Future: Girls and Technology Education in Connecticut

This paper, from Suzanne Silverman and Alice M. Pritchard of the Vocational Equity Research, Training, and Evaluation Center, a project of the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund in Hartford, Connecticut, covers the disparity of girls in technology programs in Connecticut. A study was conducted on teaching methods and classroom atmosphere, as well as teacher interaction with middle school girls. A survey on high school students was done as well, on why students chose to take or avoid technology classes.
