This page is a course overview for Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) course 11.943J/ESD.935, Urban Transportation, Land Use, and the Environment.  The webpage contains materials from a seminar studying the interactions of urban systems and the environment. Along with general topics, the seminar provides in-depth case studies of three Central and South American urban areas: Mexico City, Curitiba, and Santiago. A syllabus, calendar, references for readings, assignments, project ideas, in-depth lecture presentations, and class assignments are also provided.  The production and distribution of this resource is part of MIT OpenCourseWare, an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to put all of the educational materials from its undergraduate and graduate-level courses online and make them freely accessible.
