The Fusion of Biology and Materials Science through Hands-On Activities and Demonstrations

This classroom module will serve as an introduction to the topic of biomimetics. Students will gain an understanding of the basic concepts of scale, laboratory instruments involved, logical reasoning and imaging materials related to the topic. The activity is appropriate for upper elementary and middle school students. The activity should take one class period to complete.
