Externship Work-Based Learning Projects

This site, from the National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM), has links to a variety of manufacturing based projects for high school and college students. Community college and technical high school educators in Connecticut participated in four- week summer externships and not only learned from their industry sponsors, but they had the advantage of these sponsors helping them develop work-based learning projects that they could bring back into the classroom. Through these practical learning experiences, students learn first-hand about current manufacturing workplace practices.
