This 195-page educator’s guide is provided by the Northwest Center for Sustainable Resources and is part of a series on community-based education. This guide "is a compilation and summary of each of the previous manuals for schools and communities looking for specific ways of working together to educate our student-citizens." This guide includes six sections: Introduction, Understanding Community: Life-long Learning, Themes and Roles, The Community-based Educational Process, Evaluation and Assessment, and Example Program. Other guides in this series include Community as a Context for Learning, Community-based Natural Resources for Biology, and Community-based Education: Model Programs.

The 195-page .docx file is a duplicate of the PDF guide.
