Energy Services and Technology Project

To respond to the market demand and economic necessities of a new energy economy, KVCC has developed the Energy Services and Technology (EST) program. The EST program will prepare students for multiple career pathways, including entry level positions in the mechanical services/plumbing field or in engineering technology. The EST program will offer an Associate in Applied Science Degree which will provide students with multiple career pathways in the mechanical services/plumbing field. Graduates will be skilled in the installation and design of high efficiency and renewable plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Upon completion of the EST program, students are eligible to pursue State of Maine licensing in plumbing, oil burner, solid fuel, propane and natural gas and the EPA Refrigeration Certification. The EST program began matriculating students in the fall of 2012. On this site, visitors can read more about the program, including educational outcomes, criteria for graduation, career opportunities, curriculum information, and even access an application to apply for the program.
