ATE 101 aims to help ATE projects and centers integrate information about their initiatives, events, and valuable resources created and collected into the ATE Central portal and through ATE Central disseminate that information out to others in the NSF community and beyond. ATE 101 also offers tips and tools for ATE grantees generally. ATE 101 is divided up into six main sections:

  • Getting Started contains information for grantees new to the ATE program, including information about the annual meeting, growing a project or center, and writing reports for NSF.
  • Deliverables helps project and center leadership understand how to take advantage of ATE Central's resource portal and archiving service, as well as how to develop a resource collection independently. The information included here helps grantees create a collection development policy, resource metadata, and a robust data management plan for deliverables and other project or center data.
  • The Evaluation section contains helpful information on creating and carrying out a successful evaluation plan with lots of support from outside resources for further information.
  • Finding Partners provides details on the different types of collaborations within ATE and how to use ATE Central's map and publications to find partners.
  • The Outreach section contains information on creating and implementing an outreach plan, as well as assessing current outreach practices using ATE Central's Outreach Kit.
  • The Tools and Technology section guides grantees through the waters of helpful and free or low-cost technology, including the open source digital collections platform Metavus. The microsite service, webinar platforms, and survey software that are helpful to the ATE community are also covered.
