This 6-page lab activity is provided by Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center (MATEC) and covers R2R Ladder Networks. These networks provide a simple and inexpensive method of converting digital information to an analog signal. The R2R ladder circuit is a very common piece of most Digital-to-Analog converters.
This activity includes the following sections: Purpose, Systems Rationale, System Concepts, Student Learning Outcomes, Prerequisite Knowledge and Skills, Learning Objectives, Process Overview, Performance Overview, Introduction, and more.
Student learning outcomes for this activity include:
- Identify and measure a resistor.
- To measure current and voltage.
- Calculate overall resistance of series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits.
- Be able to identify an R2R ladder network.
- Be able to systematically approach a circuit to understand its functionality.
