MFG Your Future: Matt and Michael; Applications Engineer

The National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM) addresses the need for highly skilled workers in the manufacturing workplace by building programs that provide resources to educators and students interested in learning new technologies in manufacturing. The NCNGM is directed by the Connecticut College of Technology (CCOT), a virtual organization representing technology curriculum geared toward engineering and technical training offered at Connecticut's 12 community colleges. This video follows Matt and Mike, two Senior Applications Engineers at Kamatics in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Kamatics engineers design products used for a variety of applications on land, air, and sea. Matt and Mike work closely with companies to solve engineering challenges by designing and producing new parts. Both discuss the rewarding nature of their work, their backgrounds and interest in math and science, and the growing number job opportunities for manufacturing and engineering in New England.
