Screenshot

This case study provides valuable information on the funding and implementation of security measures at the seaports in both Washington and Oregon. Using publicly available information in tandem with survey results, Andreas Udbye created a report that illuminates the experiences and disruptions in security measures since 2002. The study contains an introduction, survey findings, background information, the regulatory framework for the Maritime Port Security, crucial federal agencies involved in port security, 2007 nationwide best practices study, port risk mitigation and trade resumption/resiliency planning, the 14 members of the Northwest Marine Terminal Association and the Port of Newport, the Port Security Grant Program, comparison with some of the nation's largest seaports, and port security incidents experiences over the past few years. Also included are appendices, references, tables and figures.

This case study complements Tacoma Community College's Logistics curriculum. Selected curriculum is available through ATE Central.
