Cybersecurity Human Capital: Initiatives Need Better Planning and Coordination

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued this eighty-six page report in November 2011 to address the threats to federal government information systems and infrastructures. In order to remedy this problem, the GAO assessed the existing workplace initiatives in the federal government for cybersecurity personnel as well as the spending in eight federal government agencies with large IT budgets. Taking into account the information from these assessments, the GAO made workforce recommendations for six of the eight agencies they evaluated.
