Viscosity of Household Fluids
This 23-page instructor guide from Edmonds Community College outlines a laboratory activity in which students learn about the process of viscosity testing and the behaviors of fluids. Using different household fluids, students perform viscosity measurements, data analysis, and plotting, and identify whether the fluids are exhibiting Newtonian or non-Newtonian behavior. This activity was designed for second-year college classrooms, and requires two class sessions to complete. This document contains the following sections: Objectives, MatEd Core Competencies Covered, Equipment and Materials, Introduction, Procedure, Instructor Notes, and an Evaluation Packet.
